Mladic, a former Bosnian Serb General, is now on trial for committing genocide (killing 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys during the 1995 war) (Defiant Mladic calls genocide charges “obnoxious”) and yet a former USAF General stated in 1995 “[t]he difference between the factions in Bosnia is not morality, as the Bosnian Muslims and Western press insist, but power and opportunity. All have the same goal: to avoid living as a minority. All have committed crimes against other ethnic groups. Despite its claims of neutrality and preaching against military solutions, the United States has favored the Bosnian Muslims, keeping silent as they launched offensives from U.N.-guarded safe areas. Since air strikes cannot resolve the conflict, the United States must discourage violence by all sides and let Russia–the one country Serbs trust–take the lead in negotiations.” (Making Peace With the Guilty: The Truth About Bosnia).
What is the truth?

Mic’s reply to Mi’s posting (4 hours ago):
We Americans HAD NO IDEA what was going on in Bosnia. If you ask 100 Americans about Bosnia, 99 will NOT KNOW that we were fighting AGAINST Orthodox Christians and FOR Muslims….99% don’t know!
At that time, the US Politically Correct Media ONLY used terms Serb, Croat and Bosniak….they NEVER SAID Christian, Catholic and Muslim…NEVER…so no one knew!
All we knew was we were fighting some people called Serbs….and NO AMERICAN has any idea what a Serb is..NONE!
So, yea, I agree Mi, before we go to a war, we really need to know who is on what side…but then again…we have NO IDEA who the Rebels in Libya ARE, NO IDEA….and we are on their side…HERE WE GO AGAIN! WE learned NOTHING from Bosnia!
Does this pretty much sum it up? How many truly know, or at least knew at the time, what was going on in Bosnia and who was fighting whom? Why have there been so many titles to this war – Cosovo, Bosnia, Serbia, Balkan, Sarajevo?
This is the quickest information found, and not surprising that truth was renamed and confused by media sources.
In 1995, U.S. and NATO aircraft attacked Bosnian Serb targets to halt attacks on U.N. safe zones and to pressure them into a peace accord. Clinton deployed U.S. peacekeepers to Bosnia in late 1995, to uphold the subsequent Dayton Agreement. … To stop the ethnic cleansing and genocide of Albanians by nationalist Serbians in the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia’s province of Kosovo, Clinton authorized the use of American troops in a NATO bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in 1999, named Operation Allied Force. General Wesley Clark was Supreme Allied Commander of NATO and oversaw the mission. With United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244, the bombing campaign ended on June 10, 1999. The resolution placed Kosovo under UN administration and authorized a peacekeeping force. NATO announced that its forces had suffered zero combat deaths, and two deaths from an Apache helicopter crash. Opinions in the popular press criticized pre-war genocide statements by the Clinton administration as greatly exaggerated. A U.N. Court ruled genocide did not take place, but recognized, “a systematic campaign of terror, including murders, rapes, arsons and severe maltreatments”. The term “ethnic cleansing” was used as an alternative to “genocide” to denote not just ethnically motivated murder but also displacement, though critics charge there is no difference. Slobodan Milošević, the President of Yugoslavia at the time, was eventually charged with the “murders of about 600 individually identified ethnic Albanians” and “crimes against humanity.” ~Wikipedia
Is it true that the Bosnian Muslims were targeting Serbs from inside their U.N. sanctioned safe-zone? And where did this “600 individually identified ethnic Albanians” turn into 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys?
